About

Quixotic Guides

Laugh, travel, relax, adventure, enjoy, love, simplify, be kind, bring attention.

Quixotic Travel Guides is grounded in these principles.

After much traveling, founders Karuna Eberl and Steve Alberts felt there was something missing from the guidebooks they had been buying around the world. So they decided to make their own — combining off-the-beaten-path, out-of-the-ordinary things to do with local insights, grand storytelling, personality and of course the full array of guidebook resources and accouterments. Highlighted restaurants, hotels and attractions are chosen from first-hand, local knowledge and enjoyment, valuing honesty and positivity above popularity.

The Quixotic Guide to Key West and the Lower Keys is the first book of our guidebook empire. Why the Keys? Because these beloved islands are our home turf, and we want to help everyone enjoy the epitome of memorable vacations here.

About Our Other Site — Wandering Dog Creations

For information about our other writing and photography, please visit wanderingdogcreations.com. If you want us to write an article or book for you, or need some photos (we have an extensive set from the Florida Keys and around the world) that is the place to find out more. The info below and above is there as well, but also here rather randomly because for inexplicable technical reasons we need to post it somewhere so we can link to it for the other site. This is why we are writers and photographers, not web designers...

For our travel blog, please see quixotictravelers.com. That's also our instagram. Karuna's award-winning documentary about the sunken slave ship Guerrero, see that site at theguerreroproject.org. And if you need marine canvas and upholstery in the Florida Keys, see Steve at Oceanside Canvas!
